Within the local vacinity are many visitor attractions such as the Glen Turret whisky distillery ,the Stuart Crystal and Criff visitors centres,The Falls of Dochart, Loch Tay and, of course Loch Earn are within easy reach. Further afield there is Stirling with its famous castle and the Walace Monument.

Local restaraunts abound in both Comrie and St Fillians with cuisine varying from Chineese and Indian to traditional Scotish.

Sports

Golf There is plenty of golf to choose from with nine courses, all in easy reach of West Turret. St Fillians course is the nearest, some 2 miles away. Others are listed on the useful links page on this site.

Water sports are available at the Loch Earn Water Sports Centre three miles from West Turret. Water skiing, sailing, wet bikes and canoeing are the main activities and lessons are available.

Mountain bikes can be hired from the The Achray House Hotel in St Fillans 2 mile away. There are many beautifull tracks for the family or more adventrous routes for the experienced. Maps and guide books are available at West Turret.

Hill walking is one of the best ways to experience the spectacular scenery around Dunira. Ben Vorlich and Ben Chonzie are are a few miles away and the estate offers many miles of more gentle walks.

Fishing. Loch Earn is stocked with brown & rainbow trout and permits cost £6 a day. Fish from the lochside or from boats which are easily rented from the local fish farm.

Horse Riding. A quick hour or a half day or day treck - again within easy distance.
